Culture

As You Cross the Causeway

From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense of warmth that goes beyond the Lowcountry sun. This is a community rooted in connection—where neighbors become friends and shared care for the natural surroundings brings people together. With over 50 clubs, there’s always something to discover and celebrate together.

The essence of Callawassie Island is brought to life by the people who are the very definition of Community.

Ecology

One of many sea islands along the Carolina coast, our community is defined by winding tidal creeks, Spanish moss, and a deep respect for nature. Residents take pride in protecting it—earning recognition as South Carolina’s first Wildlife Habitat and a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

Community

The amenities on our island offer thoughtfully designed spaces for residents to engage, connect, and unwind. The River Club features a family pool and casual waterfront dining. The Clubhouse serves as both a social hub and event venue, while the Fitness Center promotes health, wellness, and community connection.

Philanthropy

Since 2001, through events, sponsorships, and donations, FOCI has awarded over $1,000,000 in grants to impactful local nonprofits across the region.
