With over 50 active clubs—from kayaking and gardening to golf, photography, and more—residents find meaningful ways to connect, engage their interests, and build lasting friendships within a welcoming community.

Photography Club

The Photography Club is known for its welcoming and warm atmosphere, encouraging anyone with an interest and passion for photography to join. Photography is best enjoyed collaboratively, and this club fosters an educational and supportive environment for both newcomers and those with more experience behind the camera.

Men’s Golf

New to the island? The Callawassie Men’s Golf Association welcomes you. With weekly play, signature tournaments, and camaraderie on and off the greens, it’s more than a league—it’s your invitation to connection, competition, and lifelong friendships on our championship course.

Women’s Golf

Founded in 1987, the Callawassie Women’s Golf Association brings together over 120 women for weekly play, friendship, and fun. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, the CWGA offers a warm welcome and a wonderful way to connect through community and sport.

Blind Squirrels

The Blind Squirrels is a welcoming golf group for women looking to learn, laugh, and connect. Designed for beginners and casual players, the club offers weekly clinics and relaxed rounds—fostering friendship, fun, and confidence on the course without the pressure of competition.

Racquet Club

With six Har-Tru® tennis courts and four Pickleball courts, the Callawassie Racquet Club sets up a great serve for tennis and pickleball enthusiasts alike. Throwing many island-wide events throughout the year, the CRC promotes camaraderie and sheer enjoyment of racquet sports.

Paddler’s Club

The Paddlers Club brings neighbors together on the water, exploring scenic tidal creeks and rivers while building lasting connections. In a place where waterways are part of daily life, this group offers a meaningful way to experience nature—and friendship—from the seat of a kayak.

Fishing Club

Founded in 2012, the Fishing Club brings residents together through tournaments, fish fries, and shared stories. With no dues or formal meetings, it’s all about casting lines, enjoying the Lowcountry’s bounty, and forging friendships in a laid-back, fun-loving community built on fellowship and fresh catches.

Ecology Club

The Ecology Club helped Callawassie Island earn recognition as South Carolina’s first Community Wildlife Habitat and a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Through education and stewardship, this group nurtures a thriving ecosystem—ensuring the island’s natural beauty endures for generations to come.

Garden Club

The Garden Club blends education, philanthropy, and
fun—sharing Lowcountry gardening wisdom while giving back to nature and community. From planting vibrant flowerbeds to maintaining the Butterfly Garden, members cultivate beauty across the island and inspire a deeper appreciation for the environment they lovingly tend.

Kids Camp

Held each summer, Kids Camp builds friendships and fosters a love for nature through hands-on fun—like kayaking, golf, tennis, and crafts. Along the way, kids learn about local ecology and the joy of outdoor adventure, all capped with a family-friendly carnival celebration.

FOCI (Friends of Callawassie Island)

FOCI supports those in need across Beaufort and Jasper Counties through fundraising events like golf tournaments, yard sales, and islander-led theater productions. Members give generously of their time and talents, creating lasting impact and building stronger communities through compassion, creativity, and a shared sense of purpose

Sporting Clays Club

The Sporting Clays Club celebrates the challenge of the sport and the spirit of friendly competition. With seasonal clinics and support for newcomers through certified instructors, it’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors, sharpen your aim, and connect with others who share your passion.

Women’s Club

The Women’s Club, originally “The Marsh Hens,” has welcomed and connected Callawassie Island’s women for over 30 years. With monthly gatherings from September to May, the group fosters friendship, learning, and outreach—offering flexible involvement and a warm space to engage, give back, and have fun.
