Callawassie Island Unveils New Fitness Center | Callawassie Island

Callawassie Island unveiled a brand new, 3,300 square foot Fitness Center to our residents on Wednesday, August 30. The new building, located adjacent to the Clubhouse, features stunning views, state-of the-art fitness equipment, a mind and body studio, as well as indoor cycling.

The new Callawassie Fitness Center has all the equipment needed for those seeking a more focused wellness routine.  There is cardio and strength training equipment, on-site personal trainers and physical therapists, meditation and education classes and much, much more.

Lindsey Cooler, Communications & Membership Director, described this new Callawassie Island amenity saying that, “While this is a place geared towards exercise, it is much more than that.  This is also a place where you can come to unwind, a place to better both your mind and your body.”

Callawassie Island residents can now seek on-site injury diagnosis and treatment through physical therapy, provided by Carolina Sportscare’s lead therapist, Chelsea McGowan.  In addition to physical therapy, massage therapy will be offered as a wellness solution, provided by Kerry Knight, John Perez and Lisa Braun, all LMT certified therapists.

Personal training is also available at the new Callawassie Island Fitness Center. This program will be led by two fitness professionals from Pepper Fitness, Barry Pepper, PGA Golf Professional and Fitness Professional, and Erin Goguen, former Physiologist at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

“Our Fitness Director, Cyndi May, did an outstanding job forming our new fitness team. This is an outstanding group of professionals, who hold several different certifications, and offer great expertise in a wide variety of disciplines,” says Jeff Spencer, General Club Manager at Callawassie Island.

This is an exciting new venture, one that Callawassie Island residents have long awaited. The Fitness Center is a great addition to the island, a fantastic new amenity for all current and future Callawassie Island residents.
