Clubs & Community

Whether it's a lifelong passion or a budding interest you'd like to explore, Callawassie Island has an outlet for you.  Through many on and offsite clubs and organizations, Callawassie Island offers a variety of opportunities for members to share their interests.

Situated on the majestic Colleton River, The Callawassie Island River Club provides a casual setting for socializing with friends and neighbors. This comfortable community clubhouse includes an indoor library and fireplace, with an outdoor family swimming pool and sundeck, for you to enjoy the wonderfully warm Lowcountry weather year round, and an outdoor fire pit area for you to use on those rare winter days. There is a gazebo at the end of one of our nearby deep-water docks, an idyllic spot to have a picnic lunch, a sunset cocktail or simply watch bottlenose dolphins play.

Through a contribution of their time and talent, Callawassie Island residents play a variety of roles as board members and hands-on volunteers to support a wide array of Beaufort County programs. These acts of service range from building homes, tutoring youth and adults, providing food, clothing and civic services, caring for the elderly and the ill and supporting wildlife preservation.
