Beaufort, South Carolina
Located on one of the largest Sea Islands along the southeast Atlantic coast, Beaufort is just 15 minutes north of Callawassie Island. Visitors to Beaufort enjoy its quaint downtown, which is designated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as an historic district. Stately homes reflecting antebellum architecture, art galleries, antique shops, fine dining, and a riverfront park make Beaufort a popular destination rich in history and culture. In the Beaufort area the Marine Air Station, the Naval Hospital, and the Parris Island Recruit Training Depot all add a significant and positive military cultural presence to the area. The museum at Parris Island is not to be missed.

Savannah, Georgia
Only 30 minutes from Callawassie Island, its stunning beauty and old-world charm are the backdrop to an elegant Historic District and a festive River Street. First-class restaurants, sophisticated art galleries, and picturesque squares make Savannah a popular destination for those who want to experience gracious southern living. Hilton Head Island

Hunting Island
Hunting Island is South Carolina's most popular state park. Also attracted to the semi-tropical barrier island is an array of wildlife, including loggerhead sea turtles, barracudas, sea horses, alligators, pelicans, and dolphins. What they all enjoy is five miles of beach, thousands of acres of marsh, tidal creeks and maritime forest, a saltwater lagoon, and ocean inlet. Adding to the natural history is a publicly accessible historic 170-foot lighthouse.
