Golf tip from Callawassie's Head Golf Professional
Playing tip: Putting
Putting plays a major role in a round of golf. The average 20 handicapper has 34 putts per round, which means if he could make 3 less putts per round, he would shoot in the 80s. Here are a few tips to help you improve your putting and better your score.
1. Aim the putter before you take your stance. Set the putter face perpendicular to the line you want to start on.
2. Set your feet. Build a stance that’s comfortable for you. You have to feel good to have good feel.
3. Listen for the rattle of the ball in the cup. Moving your head opens or closes your putter face. So do not look up until your ear tells you the good news.
As always, if you have any questions or need one on one help, please contact your local PGA Professional.
